Principal’s Report

Welcome back from term break

This is a busy (and sometimes stressful) term, particularly for the graduating class. We wish them well as they prepare for final exams. Additionally, the Year 12 students will participate in several key celebrations over the next few weeks. These will provide opportunities to celebrate the culmination of a significant chapter in their lives. The Senior School staff will communicate details.

Parents, a reminder that we are here to provide academic and wellbeing support over the ensuing weeks should your children need it. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

A little light relief

As noted, it may be a very intense time for senior students; however, it is important to have some breaks from the books. At the Senior School Assembly this week, comedian, actor and presenter, Nazeem Hussain (Class of 2003) provided some light relief. As always, his acerbic wit is underpinned by some serious thought-provoking content. Another example of an alumnus who has used his intellect in a range of creative ways.

In addition to some time with friends and a few fun activities, it is important to get adequate rest and exercise, eat well and stay hydrated.

Sam Crocket – Congratulations on his new appointment

Sam Crocket has been provisionally appointed as Assistant Principal at The MacRobertson Girls’ High School. Sam has provided more than a decade of exemplary teaching and leadership at MHS and we wish him well on the next stage of his leadership journey. I have personally been very grateful to sam for all he has done to support me as I have navigated MHS through a period of significant challenge and change.

Parents and Friends Update

Next week the P&F will be undertaking two very important tasks. One group will be at Millgrove running a working bee, another group will be at school providing support for Welcome Day. I encourage as many parents as possible to lend a hand.

I also wish to acknowledge the amazing work of Mr Zoltan Kokai who has had to step down as President due to ill health. We wish him a speedy recovery. Mr David Cutting will step into the role of President and Ms Angelique Drew will take up the reigns as Vice-President. I sincerely appreciate their willingness to take up these roles. Angelique and David are very active members of the P&F and I look forward to working with them more directly in the ensuing months.

Welcome Day – Sunday October 15 – Advance Notice.

Next Sunday our new students will have the opportunity to visit the school and become familiar with our facilities and programs. Thank you in advance to the staff, students, alumni, and parents/guardians who will be on site next week to assist us.
