Principal’s Report

Living the high life… form 10D

Last week 10D was undertaking their outdoor education experience at Millgrove. These camps can be challenging and push students to go outside their comfort zone. Despite the challenges some may face, the feedback at the end of the week is always positive. There is a sense of achievement and accomplishment when you get to the end of the trail, make it across the high ropes course or get to the top of the mountain! Thank you to the team at Millgrove for their ongoing commitment to providing an excellent personal development experience for our students.

Robotics Awards

Last Saturday 11 Melbourne High School Robotics teams competed in the RoboCup Junior State Championships. In the Open Soccer division we achieved two significant awards – RoboCup Junior Victoria Champions and the RMIT University Engineering Award. Thank to Mr Paul Drew, Mr Peter Drew and the rest of the supervising team for their guidance and congratulations to the winning team — Robin Chew 11N, Vendang Day 11C , Dennis Yahnov 11P, and Saum Khosravi-Yasdi 11L.

Sporting Fields Upgrade

This week the final touches are being made to Fields 3 and 4. A heart-felt thanks to the P&F and MCC (Hockey Division) for their generous financial support. This project would not have been possible without their support.

Memorial Hall Upgrade

Work has begun to sand and polish the woodwork. Over the next two years, other work will be undertaken including painting and re-wiring to restore the hall to its original grandeur. A fundraising campaign will be undertaken next year to assist with the cost of the project.

School Captain and Vice-Captain 2025

After a very difficult process examining nearly 30 excellent applications, I am pleased to announce that Olly Downing will be our 2025 School Captain and the School Vice-Captain for 2025 will be Henry Lake. On your behalf I wish to congratulate them and wish them every success in their appointments.

Acting Principal

Please note that I will be on Long Service Leave, for the first 9 days of Term 4. Mr Paul Drew will be Acting Principal during my absence.

Holiday message

I wish to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to all members of the school community for their ongoing support. As we move into the holiday period, I wish to also take this opportunity to encourage all staff and students to take a little time away from the books.

Enjoy your break,

Dr Tony Mordini
Principal
