On Monday, the 13th of October, 23 students ventured to Brighton Grammar School with hopes of reclaiming the State Finals Trophy from Huntingtower High School. We started the day strong with wins across the board, before facing stiff opposition from Haileybury and Scotch College. Going into the last round, Melbourne High was leading by a thin margin, the only public school among the top 3. Through a miraculous last round performance, Melbourne High claimed first place, beating out Haileybury by half a point. Thus earning our spot to the national school championships on the first weekend of December. It was truly a team effort and every point counted towards our success. A special congratulations however to Malhaar Mehta who obtained a flawless score of 8/8 and many thanks to Mr Hellspong for accompanying us on the day.
