Melbourne High School will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS Science competition. This year it will be held on 21 Aug – 25 Aug 2023
What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in Science.

How to participate in ICAS
If you wish to participate in ICAS this year, please:
- read about ICAS subjects and prices here:
- read the terms and conditions here:
- go to Parent Portal to purchase tests here:
- enter our school’s access code – DQM873
- enter your child’s details, select the tests you would like to purchase (Science), then proceed to payment.
After payment is made via the Parent Payment System, you will receive an order confirmation email, please keep this for your records.
The Australian Science Olympiad Exams

The Australian Science Olympiad Exams are challenging but rewarding online exams held once a year the following disciplines:
- Junior (for Year 9 – 10) -Wednesday 14 – Friday 16 June 2023
- Physics – Monday 31 July 2023
- Biology – Tuesday 1 August 2023
- Earth and Environmental Science – Wednesday 2 August 2023
- Chemistry – Thursday 3 August 2023
All students who wish to be considered for stage two and three of the program must sit the exam. Students may sit more than one exam.
Registrations for the Junior Science Olympiad Exam will open on 1 May.
Registrations for the Australian Science Olympiad Exams will open on 1 June.
