On Friday the 4th of August the year 11 and 12 Indonesian students attended the Indonesian Model UN Conference. These conferences simulate the UN General Assembly to provide students an opportunity to practise their diplomacy and collaboration skills in the language that they are studying in VCE. The topic this year was Sustainable Cities. Throughout the day we enthusiastically took part in debate, discussion, and compromise to eventually propose and vote on amendments to the draft resolution for sustainable cities, all in the Indonesian language. The day ended in success with several amendments being successfully passed.
The day allowed us to practise our speaking and listening skills in Indonesian. Combining this with the delicious food provided, it was a wonderful experience for all involved.
