Army and Air Force Cadet combined annual camp

Over the period 13-18 Sep, over 150 cadets attended the combined cadet annual camp in the Redcastle-Graytown State Forest, north of the town of Heathcote. Unlike the biblical amount of rain we had last year, we were blessed with 6 days of perfect sunshine.

For the year 12 army cohort, this was only the second annual camp they have attended and extensive coordination was required especially with the integration of air force cadets into the activity.

After a brief warm up/revision period the cadets were divided into two teams who moved to set up a HQ in a secret location for the 48-hour exercise of capturing the flag, asset construction and location.

Imposed challenges like master chef cooking challenge, ping-pong for peace, glow stick delight and wheelie bin wipeout mixed up the flow of the game to the delight of the umpires and the chagrin of the year 12s trying to control the game.
A big thank you to the army, air force staff and staff members as well as the coterie of old-boy helpers who made the camp so successful.
