Air Force Cadets Dining In Night

Share

On Saturday the 3rd of August, 415 Squadron held their annual Dining In Night at the Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne, with a staggering 121 people in attendance, making this the biggest Dining In Night in 415 history. Dining In Night is one of the longest standing traditions of 415 Squadron, where cadets, past and present as well as parents and staff gather to celebrate the achievements of the squadron.

This year, we were lucky to have Air Vice Marshal Ken Robinson, AM, CSC as our guest speaker. Air Vice Marshal Ken Robinson is a highly accomplished member of the Royal Australian Air Force, with a history of several command appointments in the Australian Defence Force. He has served Australia with bravery, and shown an excellence that all students can look up to.

Dining In Night being the long-standing event it is, is marked in traditions. A Squadron video was also presented during the night, filled with highlights from the year, including various interviews and anticipation on the winners of the Sectional Dress and Drill competition. Congratulations to Basic Section 4, the winners of the competition, pictured below.

Another award was also presented on the night, the FLTLT Saki Ganella shield. The FLTLT Saki Ganella shield is awarded to the cadet who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedicated service to the Squadron. This year’s recipient of the FLTLT Saki Ganella shield is CSGT Ashton Nguyen, pictured underneath.

Dining In Night was truly a highlight of the cadet year. Thank you to all of those who made it happen, Cadet Executives, NCOs, staff, parents, guests and cadets.
