On the 30th of August, 7 MHS students competed in the annual Goethe German Poetry Competition at Monash University, led by Ms Neal and Mr Grant. The competition was fierce, with students showcasing their skills in pronunciation, accent, emphasis, and interpretation of German poetry. It was also a great opportunity for students to network with other German speakers, get an insight into Germany’s culture and simply be immersed in the language.
After a long day of competition, playing language games and learning about German studies at university, the results were released. Congratulations to all the students from MHS who practiced for and participated in this event, and a special thanks to Ms Neal for organising the event and supporting the students in bettering their abilities all together. A special congratulations to Kemindu Karunaratne for securing third prize. Es war insgesamt eine tolle Erfahrung und wir werden nächstes Jahr wiederkommen!
