On Thursday 12th of September, 20 students from MUNSA travelled to Albert park for a fun and competitive day of Model UNs (MUN) and workshops along with Albert Park College and Elwood College. The day started with a brief outline of what MUN is, and then went straight into the competition. In partners, each pair was given a country before the event which would be the country the team would represent on the day. The team would act as the representatives of these countries, expressing the country’s interests for two global issues. The preparation and commitment of the MHS students was extraordinary, and it showed as they all went on to deliver amazing speeches and pass valuable amendments to the resolutions, which both ended up passing. Especially considering the majority of the group hadn’t even done a Model UN prior to this, it was a valuable experience for all.
