Why does Melbourne High School sing? Because we can. Why don’t the other schools? Because they can’t. For proof come and see the C. J. Breen Memorial House Choral & Instrumental Competition at the Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday March 20th. All members of the Melbourne High School community – parents, friends, old boys and staff – are invited to attend. No tickets are required, so just come along.
The Instrumental Competition commences at 9.30 am and after a brief interval will be followed by the Choral Competition at 11.30 am. It will conclude at 1.30 pm. Waterloo is the reigning choral champion and Como the instrumental winner from 2024, but both will face strong competition to maintain their places. Como last won chorals in 2019 and Forrest in 2014. Yarra, a traditional choral powerhouse, was the defending champion from 2023, their first win since 2011! Who will be victorious this year? Come along on March 20th to find out. You will be amazed by the virtuosity on display!
