On Tuesday, June 10th, the Commerce Club hosted its first major event of the year, featuring Dr. Kunal Luthra, a distinguished MHS alumnus and current partner at McKinsey & Company.
Dr. Luthra, who graduated as Dux of the school in 2009 with an ATAR of 99.95 and four perfect study scores, shared insights into his exceptional career journey. Initially pursuing a degree in medicine, Dr. Luthra later transitioned into the competitive world of management consulting.
During his talk, Dr. Luthra reflected on his experiences navigating VCE and his time at Melbourne High School, as well as the motivations behind his decision to switch careers. He provided valuable perspectives on the MBB consulting industry, demonstrating how career flexibility and the ability to thrive in high-performance environments can lead to diverse opportunities.
Students were inspired by Dr. Luthra’s journey, gaining a deeper understanding of both the challenges and rewards of transitioning between fields and excelling in dynamic industries.
