The Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) is a $27.5 million state of the art facility for Victoria’s highest achieving students. Adjacent to Melbourne High School, selected students can study first year university courses as part of their VCE.
On Tuesday 18 October 2022, the facility was officially opened by the Minister for Education, Hon. James Merlino M.P. with students beginning Term One of 2023.
Representatives from the Melbourne High School Foundation were invited to the opening and were treated to a tour of the Centre including presentations highlighting how the CHES program will foster a new generation of leaders, problem solvers and innovators in Victoria.
Formerly the Melbourne High School Gifted Academy, CHES is a bridge between high school and university. Read more about the Centre at ches.vic.edu.au
This project was made possible through the Melbourne High School Foundation purchasing land at 669 Chapel St, South Yarra.
