Tutor Learning Initiative – 2 positions – Applications close 28 July 2023
The Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) was introduced in 2021 to support students whose learning had been disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.TLI provides government schools with funding to employ tutors to deliver targeted small group learning support to students who need it most.
Melbourne High School is a select entry school for boys in Year 9 – 12, situated in South Yarra next to the Yarra River. Typically students require assistance in planning, organisation and study strategies, as well as general literacy and numeracy and some subject specific help. At Melbourne High School tutors are known as Academic Mentors.
Two positions are available to the end of 2023. One is for a maths / science specialist, and the other for any area. Although the positions advertised are full time until the end of term 4 2023, if the successful applicants are not available full time, this can be negotiated. Funding for these positions will expire at the end of 2023.
The positions may suit pre-service teachers, the newly retired, or teachers wanting to return to the workforce.
Applications should consist of a letter of introduction indicting methods of teaching and a resume containing 3 referees. Applicants must hold either VIT registration, VIT Permission to Teach or a current Working with Children Check.
